Testimonials

"As an adult returning to flute playing after many years I was nervous about beginning lessons again.  Freya immediately put me at ease with her friendly and encouraging manner.  Returning to flute has been a huge joy for me and over 3 years later I am still loving lessons and learning a huge amount! Freya’s talent is inspirational, her passion for music is infectious and I would highly recommend her as a teacher!" Erin Mclean

"Freya is such an encouraging music teacher, she skilfully achieves the balance of setting a pace of learning that allows for success at one level along with a stretch to the next level.  She teaches primarily by ear, but is happy to provide notes as a back-up and is very good at explaining theory in an accessible way.

Whether teaching to a group or in a one-to-one tutorial Freya is endlessly patient and supportive. She makes learning music fun and creates an ethos where mistakes are just part of the learning process and nothing to be nervous about. I would highly recommend Freya as a tutor for total beginners through to those who are very experienced but want to improve or widen their repertoire." Brigid Daniel

"Freya has been brilliant teaching me the whistle, taking me from a complete novice  to being comfortable playing more complex tunes, and even performing to an audience.
She is always encouraging, helping me to improve, and patient when learning new tunes or revisiting old ones."
Neil Dunlop

"Freya has been teaching me Sax for around 2 years, she is a skilled musician and knows how to get the best out of me, she is kind, really friendly and she puts me at ease while motivating me to do better. Really glad she’s my tutor."
Duncan White

"Freya has been teaching my son Duncan the Saxophone for over 2 years. In that time we have got to know Freya very well and we feel very lucky to have her in our lives, she brings structure and really  motivates Duncan to practice and to do his best. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Freya as a music teacher as she is kind, reliable, honest, hard working and we all thinks she’s great."
Karen White

"Our daughter has been learning flute with Freya since she was six years old, and her arms were barely long enough! She has always enjoyed the lessons and after 4 1/2 years has really come on with her flute playing and her ability to write and understand music."
